The DMOM-600 is specifically designed for testing EHV circuit-breaker contact resistances, bushing contact joints, welding joints, or for any low-resistance measuring application. This high current and very lightweight (33 lbs/ 15 Kg) micro-ohmmeter is designed to meet the IEEE C57.09-1999 (5.15) requirement for testing circuit breaker contact resistance.

The DMOM-600 can accurately measure resistance values from 1 micro-ohm to 450 milliohms. A 0.1 micro-ohm resolution is possible with current greater than 5A. The DMOM-600 applies a selectable true DC test current from 10A to 600A to the resistance load to be tested. The DMOM-600 controls the test current’s rise and fall rates. The test current rise and fall rate can be selected from 5 seconds to 10 seconds. An “Auto Test” mode is also available and can be initiated simply by applying the sense cables’ leads across the two points of interest in the current path. This feature is very convenient when measuring a sequence of several resistance values in a circuit breaker contact. The DMOM-600 can also compare test results against preset limits and determine if a test passed or failed, and a “Pass” or “Fail” flag is displayed accordingly.

The DMOM-200 S3 is Vanguard’s fourth generation, microprocessor-based, true DC micro-ohmmeter. It is designed for testing EHV circuit-breaker contact resistances, bushing contact joints, welding joints, or for any low-resistance measuring application. The Vanguard Auto-Ohm 10 is a 10-ampere battery powered micro-ohmmeter designed for low-resistance-measuring applications such as the measurement of resistance in circuit breaker contacts, bushing contact joints, and welding joints. The unit is powered by four 3400mAh, 3.7Vdc Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. With these high capacity batteries, up to 2,900 tests per charge (10A/2 second duration) can be performed in the field. The Auto-Ohm 10 features a built-in charger that can charge the batteries when the unit is not in use.

The Auto-Ohm 10 features a rotary knob that is used to select either the “Contact Resistance” or “Transformer Resistance” test mode. The unit’s backlit LCD screen (128 x 64 pixels) is viewable in both direct sunlight and low light level. Resistance readings are displayed on the LCD screen in micro-ohms, milliohms, or ohms.

200A Safety Ground Tester with Built-In Thermal Printer

The Vanguard SGT-200 Safety Ground Tester is a 200A DC micro-ohmmeter designed specifically to measure the resistance of protective in-service grounding and jumper cable assemblies. The SGT-200 can measure the resistance of the grounding cables, clamps and ferrules. The measured resistance values can be compared against the calculated values (using the ASTM 2249-03 standard) and a Pass/Fail result can be printed along with the measured resistance values. Since the SGT-200 uses a DC current, there is no need to uncoil the cable under test. It can be conveniently tested in its coiled state in a much smaller testing enviornment.

The SGT-200 can measure resistance value from 1 micro-ohm to 1000 milliohms. A typical test requires the two ends of the safety ground cable to be connected to the terminals of the SGT-200. The resistance of the cable and ferrules can then be measured. If the cable size, cable length and temperature are provided, the SGT-200 will determine if the cables passes or fails the test and a pass/fail indicator will be printed on the test report.

Test results are printed on the unit’s built-in 2.5” thermal printer. A 44-key QWERTY-style rugged membrane keypad is used to input information and control the SGT-200. A back-lit graphic LCD screen (128 x 64 pixels) is used to display menus and test results.

The SGT-200 can store up to 100 test records in its internal memory. It also features a USB Flash drive interface port that can be used to store test data in a USB flash drive (not included). The SGT-200 also features an RS-232C port that is used for factory diagnostics and calibration. Test records can be reviewed and printed on a PC using the provided Vanguard VUS software.

The MMR-630 Series microohmmeters are professional-grade, portable instruments for measuring very low resistances. Due to their special measurement algorithms they can be used to test both resistive and inductive objects.

The MMR-630 is designed for electricians to test many types of electrical junctions, motor and power transformer windings. The results can be stored in the internal memory and sent to a computer via serial to USB interface. A PASS/FAIL test function rapidly displays results and indicates test progress with audio tones to give feedback to the user, and simplify the measurements.
