Battery-operated, automatic 3-phase transformer ratio finder

MODEL: TRF-250A

The TRF-250A is the battery-powered version of the TRF-250. Its battery offers approximately 3 hours of continuous use. The TRF-250A features a built-in charger that allows the unit to be used while charging.

The TRF-250A provides a test voltage of 250Vac, a wireless Bluetooth PC interface, and features a 44-key “QWERTY”-style membrane keyboard. All these features greatly improve the accuracy of the turns ratio readings, ease of operation, and reliability.

Automatic, 3-phase transformer ratio finder with 100 Vac max test voltage

MODEL: TRF-100

The TRF-100 is Vanguard’s third generation, microprocessor-based, automatic, three phase, transformer turns-ratio tester. This lightweight, portable unit is designed for testing transformers at utility power substations.

The TRF-100 determines the transformer turns-ratio using the IEEE C57.12.90 measurement method. The transformer turns-ratio (ranging from 0.8 to 50,000) is determined by precisely measuring the voltages across the unloaded transformer windings. To ensure accuracy, the TRF-100’s measuring circuitry self-calibrates before each measurement. It requires neither adjustment nor temperature compensation. The TRF-100’s turns-ratio measurement accuracy is 0.1% or better.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Ratio Range: 0.8 – 50,000 to 1
  • Capable of detecting 130 different 3-phase transformer types defined by ANSI, IEC, and Australian standards
  • 3 test voltages: 4Vac, 40Vac, and 100Vac
  • Phase angle and excitation current measurement
  • USB PC interfaces
  • 4.5-inch wide thermal printer (optional)

Automatic, 3-phase transformer turns ratio tester

MODEL: ATRT-03 S2

The Vanguard Instruments ATRT-03 S2 is the third generation, microprocessor-based, automatic, three phase, transformer turns-ratio tester. This light weight, rugged, portable unit is designed for transformer testing at utility power substations.

The ATRT-03 S2 determines the transformer turns ratio using the IEEE C57.12.90 measurement method. The ATRT-03 S2 outputs an excitation test voltage to the transformer primary windings. The induced secondary voltage is sensed and the transformer turns ratio is calculated. The ATRT-03 S2 is capable of measuring turns ratios from 0.8 to 15,000. The transformer turns-ratio, excitation current, and phase angle readings are displayed on the large LCD. The automatic transformer type detection feature allows the ATRT-03 S2 to detect and test 130 transformer types defined by ANSI, CEI/IEC and Australian standards.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Highest ratio: 0.8 – 15,000
  • Capable of detecting 130 different 3-phase transformer types defined by ANSI, IEC, and Australian standards
  • 3 Test voltages available: 8Vac, 40Vac, 100Vac
  • Phase angle and excitation current measuring
  • Computer Interface (RS-232C and USB Port)
  • USB flash drive interface
  • Name-plate turns ratio calculation
  • Computed % error based on measured and calculated ratio
  • Optional 4.5″ thermal printer
  • Powered from a single phase 100-264 Vac 50/60 Hz

Trip Saver Box

MODEL: TSB

The TSB, or Trip Saver Box, is best suited for those situations where a bucket truck is required to connect test cables to transformer bushings for performing Winding resistance and transformer ratio tests. Usually this requires multiple trips on a bucket to connect/disconnect test cables when switching between test equipment. The TSB eliminates these unnecessary trips by providing a central connection hub where both Vanguard winding resistance meters and turn ratio meters can connect. This results in increased safety and significant time savings.

The TSB has no effect on the accuracy specifications of the connected instrument.

The TSB is compatible with all Vanguard 3-phase TTR instruments and TRM-203/403 winding resistance meter
